The Hollywood Reporter says All of a Sudden, Clarissa, La Gradiva, The Invite and Tender Loving Care top the 2026 Gotham Film Awards nominees, with the ceremony set for 30 November in New York.
The nominations for the 2026 Gotham Film Awards have been announced, and five films lead the field with four nods each, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They are All of a Sudden, Clarissa, La Gradiva, The Invite and Tender Loving Care. The Gothams are widely watched as an early marker of the independent-film season, although their nominees do not always match those of later awards.
For the top prize of best feature, The Hollywood Reporter lists Clarissa and The Invite alongside Club Kid, The Debut, Dreams in Nightmares, Josephine, Mouse, Paper Tiger, Primetime, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, and Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother. The wider list of nominees also includes films by directors such as Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Pawel Pawlikowski, Lee Chang-dong, Andrey Zvyagintsev and Mike Leigh, as well as several documentaries, in categories whose full details are published in the complete nominee list.
According to the report, nominees are chosen by committees of critics, journalists, festival programmers and film curators, while separate juries of working filmmakers and other industry professionals will select the winners. The 35th Gotham Film Awards is scheduled for Monday, 30 November, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. The publication noted that its own reviews editor, Jon Frosch, served on the nominating committee for the screenplay categories.
